The Computer Center
Serving all your computer needs since 1995

About

Description of Picture. The Computer Center was opened in August of 1995 by Paul Ruby, Jr..

Paul got his start, working with computers in 1982.  Having started working as a roofer in the family business at the age of 13, he was looking for an easier line of work.

In the early 80's he began writing computer programs and articles for an international computer magazine, and even won runner up in the graphics division of an international computer programming competition.

Through the years leading up to 1995, he worked as a freelance computer consultant and programmer.  Having written several accounting programs including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll packages, he was looking to do more with computers.  In 1995 he completed his Associates degree in Business Data Processing at Bee County College.  Upon completion of college, he opened the doors to The Computer Center in August of 1995.

Shortly after opening the doors, he realized that the Internet had become an integral part of many computer repairs.  In these early days of Internet access, dialup access over a phone line was the only option to gain access to the Internet.  In order to provide reliable access to the Internet for the business, BCOM.NET, Inc. was conceived.  He built up the Internet service as a second business, which originally provided dialup access, and then added the first high speed wireless Internet service to the Beeville area.  After 8 years of building up the Internet service, BCOM.NET, Inc. was sold.

This left The Computer Center as the primary business and focus of his efforts.  Bringing over 20 years of computer experience from programming, computer repair, and networking experience allows The Computer Center to meet all of your computer needs.
